Why Social Media is a giant pile of turd and Engagement Rocks!

Syncronicisty is a funny thing….

While “listening” on Twitter, I saw a post from @mvolpe.  He posted an ebook from his slideshare account, “Why Social Media is BS”   He asked that anyone who got a sneak peak to post and tweet about it.  So, I took the challenge and here goes....

LOVE IT!!  As a Product Marketing and Community Engagement type, this is spot on!  You still have to listen and create value for your clients and customer.  @Brandautopsy is right when he says companies to share and have a personality!

Highly recommend the @BrainsonFire folks and this is what @robbinphillips have been talking about since before the Twitter and Facebook.  Check out their blog on creating Word of Mouth Movements!

Lastly and the tie to synchronicity is the latest Anti Social Network cartoon by @tomfishburne.  He’s right by saying just having a Facebook page won’t make you more social.

So take the time and listen to your customers, clients, community, constituents, ….

Create meaningful valuable conversations – we all will appreciate it!

Social Media is BS presentation

Thank you for the interesting presentation and your comments.

One suggestion I have is to change the color of your URL links i.e. the href s; in firefox, they show as a deep blue which is unreadable on the black background.

Best wishes,

Atish

Blue Links

Thanks!  I'll be going through a redesign and be changing the look and feel soon...

I appreciate the feedback!
